Love.

Happy heart day folks! Ah, Valentines Day. A whole day created SOLELY for expressing love to that special someone.

Y'all will never guess what I found today...a One Tree Hill quote page on Tumblr! Now, I don't know what "Tumblr" is and you may not know what One Tree Hill is, however, all you need to know is that it was a CW show that held my heart for almost a decade. It's the longest relationship I've been in, y'all.

I remember dreading this day in college when I was single, or telling a significant other "it's no big deal, just a Hallmark holiday...really!" I can promise you this, gentleman, it is ALWAYS a big deal. The meaning of "Valentine's Day" has changed over the years for me, that's for sure.

My brother, Bryan Patrick Kennedy, was born on Valentine's Day. He's the greatest y'all. And cute too, right? Sorry he's taken:

More recently, Valentines Day 2012 was Cooper's due date. He was late. And I will NEVER forget it. He kinda makes up for it now with cuteness. Only kinda.

And finally, this is a day where my husband knows he must plan a fabulous date and give me flowers. May sound simple, but a night out these days takes planning and, namely...a babysitter. Hallmark-holiday or not- a day reserved just to show a little bit of love?  Bring it. We all need it.

I hope everyone had a happy day. Love is so much more than a significant other, in my opinion it's all about true relationships - father-daughter, girlfriends, siblings - all just as special in their own right. I hope love filled your day.

Happy Birthday to the hubby!

Today is Jeff's birthday so I thought it appropriate to write about him. Happy birthday Jeff!

Here are just a few things I love about my husband:

1). He has to ask me how old he is. Every year. He was relieved when I told him he was NOT turning 35 this year.
2). Though he hates social media, he has a Twitter account and is addicted to following people (mostly sports related). The act of "tweeting" however would be participating in social media, which he does NOT do, obviously.
3). He tells me my cooking is good. Since pinterest has entered the world I try a LOT of new recipes...99.9% vegetarian. Only once has he told me: "Maybe no more kale this week, honey." I appreciate that.
4). I especially love how he gets up early with the nugget on the weekends after a full week of work, just so I can sleep an extra couple hours. He's the best I tell you.
5). And finally, he gave me Cooper. Our greatest joy, proudest accomplishment and most expensive valuable asset.

Honey, it is my privilege to annoy you day in and day out. You truly are my greatest friend.

Lauren

P.S. You are 34.
P.P.S. This is your LAST year in your mid-thirties.
P.P.P.S. I will ALWAYS be younger than you. Like, forever.
