Little Things Linkup: Morning Batting Practice

Did you know it snowed in Denver on Mother's Day? 

Like, an all day kind-of-blizzard. 

Colorado is 0 to 60. Snow one day, 80 degrees the next. 

The short one is eating up these warmer days and we are living outside lately.

Like this morning. At around, oh say, 7AM.

But isn't it a sight to see? 

Just a toddler in their sussies, swinging the bat.

I love the outdoor lifestyle here.

No humidity.

No mosquitos. 

Crisp beautiful mornings.

It makes my heart happy to see him loving it so much. 

Something about a little boy outdoors makes me happy.

Soak it in little man!

You'll soon be back in your parka.

It's the Little Things: Morning Snuggles.

I don't know about you but we had a very long Memorial Day.

Full of friends, food and fun - gorgeous weather - and a special day remembering not only those who have served and lost their lives on behalf of this country, but also the morals and ethics our country is built upon and stands for.

All of this led to one tired toddler, and yesterday I got more toddler snuggles than ever. Still my baby, not too proud to cuddle up with his mom, but I know that day will come. My days are numbered.

Until then, I plan to document for blackmail later in his life.

He continues to steal my heart. One brown eye at a time.

It's the Little Things: Beauty All Around Us.

After a few weeks off I'm happy to be linking up with Jess and Ashley and It's the Little Things Link-Up. Today was easy.

I woke up to snow clinging to every tree and object in its path, and bright morning sun shining through baby blue skies.

I am often blown away by the beauty here in Denver and today I am especially thankful for it! It's there most days, if we slow down long enough to notice it. 

Today is one of those days!

It's the Little Things: Potty-time!

Hey, hey y'all!

Where did this weekend/week go?
Oh...I know. Home with the Seahawks, along with the pride of the city.

You know who's proud at our house though?
This guy.

Who likes this "censor?" Haha.

Who, swear to all that is good, pees in the potty now EVERY day after his bath.
And then does this happy dance around the kitchen.

We do naked-time after his bath, because, well he loves it.
It's kind-of his special time with daddy. I know, I don't get it either.

Anyways, he has had a couple "pee-cidents" during this special time and has learned that peeing on the carpet is BAD! I always tell him, "when you need to go pee, you tell mommy and we'll go to the potty."

And, then y'all, one day he just did.

And, thus, our new ritual!
Bath, naked-time, pee in the potty.

I captured this picture the first time IT happened.
I even took video of me, er, getting rid of the evidence, because dad was at the Super Bowl and I didn't think he'd believe me. You are welcome for not sharing that.

So, we were thrilled about the potty, OBVIOUSLY.

But this picture captures just how proud he is of himself! 

It's one of the first time I've seen him understand getting recognized for good behavior. So sweet. So fun, and I love that I captured it.

WW: Savoring this Age and Little Things Link Up.

Greetings friends and Happy Wednesday!

I'm excited to join It's the Little Things Link Up today, hosted by Sadie Sky Boutique and Word of Waverly. Taking time to celebrate and be thankful for the little things in this hilarious day-to-day life? I'm in!

We've been dealing with a bout of croup over here (Croupy Coopy wuhahaha!) but with a little lung infections comes lots of these:

Mommy snuggles!

Don't worry y'all, it's a really mild case and he is already doing so much better.

As a Stay-at-Home mama, I live for these moments. 

They make the tantrums, messes, sleepless nights, hearing the word "mommy" 20 times in one-minute, and sometimes monotonous days so worth it.

It's during these moments when you see the sweetness of this little human that you MADE and the need they have for you that make your heart full. I wouldn't be anywhere else. 

Maybe I'm still going through withdrawals from my vacation away from Cooper, but this age is so darn fun. I find myself telling Jeff at the end of every day just how cute Cooper is these days! He is so well behaved, predictable and we understand each other. That may sound odd, but just like communication between adults is important, same between a mom and a little. Literally for almost two years we deal with hardly any two-way communication or understanding here, so I'm amazed at the change it makes in the day-to-day.

So today I celebrate those rare mommy snuggles and the joy I find this short little guy that I get to call mine!
