BWK: 8-Month Update

Dear Ben,  you are 8-months old today.
Is it weird that seems like no time at all, but feels like we've known you forever?
You are easy.
And I mean, so easy. Not to be confused with happy-go-lucky, which described Coop at your age, but man you are easy. I nicknamed you grumps when you were a wee one, and I'd say it still sticks. You are easy...until you're not. And when you're not, you sure let us know it. We won't ever have to wonder where we stand with you little man.

Yahoo!
You are sleeping through the night. Bless it. You slept through the night around 7-months consistently and you sleep 12-plus hours. You even slept until 9 this week! I repeat, 9AM. Thank you time change. Coop would have NEVER done this, ever.

You nap three times a day, typically 8:30, 1:30 and 5:00. You love your morning nap and early evening catnap nap the best. Obviously we have to be flexible on days we take big bro to school, and you really don't have a problem with that.

You know what you want and are a bit hard headed.

You are SO physical, constantly moving. Not yet crawling but rocking on your hands and knees; it will be any day now.
I'd guess you drink around 24 ounces of formula a day, you prefer to eat and you eat everything we give you. Seriously! You ate a lime the other day, soured up, but kept eating it! Your favorites are eggs, bananas, avocados, raspberries, blueberries - I could go on and on. You even eat deli meat. Again, stark opposite of your big bro.
You love interaction and show affection by leaning in and putting your cheek on ours. You have such intense eye contact, and are constantly soaking in things around you. You love baths with your brother and are itching to move to the big tub with him.

I imagine you will be independent, loyal, feisty and vocal. I'd also guess you will be easy going until crossed. You will be best friends with your brother until the end.

Until month, little man!

Month Eight (8)

Four days ago CPK turned 34 weeks and/or 8 months old. Hello month 8!

I kind of feel like things are about to...change. Cooper has been a lot more snuggly these days- he reaches for you to pick him up, he loves touching your face (and/or pulling hair), and he lets me rock him now. Like, in a chair. He hasn't figured out crawling yet and once he does there's that change thing I mentioned earlier. It's COMING and once this whole "mobility" thing takes off he is going to be GONE. So, I've decided to slow down time as much as I can. To rock him just a little bit longer, snuggle him a little tighter and be as present as I can.

Last week I was at MOPs at our church (mommy group) and the speaker talked about how every baby is a gift from God and we are just stewards of this gift. What an interesting way to look at it. I thank God every day for His gift and allowing me to be Cooper's steward, and pray every night for his health and his life. It's amazing how much I had no idea about true fear until I had Coop, how his life and well-being takes priority over anything else.

So, happy 8 months Snoop! You are determined, stubborn (where DOES he get this from??), you have this weird deep scream now when you get frustrated, you like to chew on electronics, you can roll from one side of the room to the other in under 10 seconds, and you really like when mommy does shark noises (like from Jaws) and puts her hand on her forehead like a fin and acts like she is going to get you. It's like, you're favorite thing.

October 21st, one day after his real 8 month birthday[/caption]

Halloween is next week y'all. I've never been the biggest fan of this holiday, it's a lot of pressure and I am SO not that creative to come up with a cool costume. But for kids? Totally different story, and this year this decision was easy. Snoop will be...a SHARK. (Disclaimer: for about an hour, and only for pictures).

Happy day y'all.
